The following is a selection of successful learning events the LRPC have run, with some feedback from our delegates.
Front Door Arrangements Learning event
This session provides an overview and information on Front Door arrangements in Leeds. It explores Early Help and Families First at the Front Door and focuses on how a variety of agencies work in partnership to effectively deal with contacts and referrals. The event includes a focus on our response to Domestic Violence and Abuse and how this is managed operationally and strategically.

Voice and Influence of Children and Young People in Children’s Social Work Services
This session provides an insight into some of the different approaches Leeds Children’s Social Work Service have developed to enable children and young people to have a voice and influence in decisions about their lives but also shape the services they access. The session also provides the opportunity to ask questions and explore approaches in other local authorities.
‘I will definitely be taking back inspiration and ideas around special summits, corporate sponsorship for voice events, as well as more frequent comms for youth council’

Voice and Influence of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
This session provides an insight into some of the different approaches Children’s Services and Voice Influence and Change team have developed to enable children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to have a voice and influence in decisions about their lives and also shape the services they access. The session also provides the opportunity to ask questions and explore approaches in other local authorities.
‘I will be challenging services on how they capture voice- is it tokenistic or making a difference to decision making to meet the needs of the child- where is our evidence?’
Effective performance management for service improvement
This session gives an overview of the use of performance data and intelligence to inform service improvement and development. This event is mainly aimed at practitioners working in Children’s Services and Performance teams who analyse and develop performance information and intelligence and practitioners who undertake quality assurance processes. It explores some of the performance products we use, some of which can drill down to individual worker and child level, and looks at how our approach has developed through collaboration with staff and managers.

Restorative Practice
An overview of Leeds’s commitment to and investment in Restorative Practice and the importance of relationships. The event covers the philosophy of Restorative Practice, considerations and learning from implementing it across children’s services, an overview of the Restorative Practice leadership offer in Leeds, and consideration of the wider impact of Restorative Practice across the whole children’s services partnership and in Human Resources and Complaint processes.
