Delegates:
This event is aimed at care leavers or care experienced young people, Participation Workers, Heads of Service, Service Managers and Operational Managers with Corporate Parenting responsibilities.
Outline & Programme:
This event will provide an overview of how and why children and young people’s voices are sought and used in influencing service development. The event will focus on how children and young people are recruited and retained to contribute to children in care and care leavers councils and how the work of those councils are promoted.
The event will also cover how groups are formed, identifying their priorities, engaging with Corporate Parents, incentives, overcoming challenges, social media and best ways to communicate, activities to raise self-esteem and confidence and most importantly hearing the views of young people.
The focus of the day will be to share best practice between young people and those with Corporate Parenting responsibilities from across a variety of local authorities. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from young people, ask questions and network with colleagues throughout the day.
Refreshments and lunch are provided. In order to book a place on this learning event then please complete and return the attached booking form.
